The BTI 7000 Series is a family of carrier-grade, robust networking platforms. Purpose-built to simplify and consolidate network layers through the integration of packet optical service delivery capabilities, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) capacity, and photonic layer building blocks, the BTI 7000 Series delivers comprehensive capabilities in the industry’s most compact, modular, easy-to-use packet optical networking system.
Offering a series of modular network platforms to address the optical network edge through to metro and regional applications, the BTI 7000 Series is a true packet optical platform, integrating MEF-certified Carrier Ethernet switching closely tied to the photonic layer. The portfolio’s compact and high-density platforms can act as standalone network elements or be expanded through a pay-as-you grow expansion architecture. In addition, the newest member of the family, the BTI 7200, empowers network operators with a pre-deployed high-capacity, plug-and-play platform, which is suited for point-to-point terminal, ring interconnect, and network aggregation applications.

Switch
Integrated packetVX™ packet service modules provide rapid provisioning and delivering of Ethernet connectivity without the need for separate Layer 2 Ethernet switches and are MEF-certified for standardized services, scalability, reliability, quality of service, and simplified service management.
Aggregate
Multi-service Muxponder client service modules enable efficient combination of services by multiplexing a wide range of protocols onto the same 10Gbps or 2.5Gbps wavelength and offer innovative distributed add/drop capabilities for ring-based networking.
Connect
Transponder client service modules provide dedicated, high-capacity interconnect at a variety of line rates up to 10Gbps. The two-transponders-in-one architecture of BTI Dual Transponders offers high-density extension of two independent client protocols or resilient 1+1 facility protection of a single client service.
Extend
BTI 7000 Series service modules leverage software-selectable transparent, SONET/SDH, or G.709 OTN line mapping strategies that provide network interoperability and simplified operational models. A complete optical toolkit provides reach extension modules for a diverse range of physical network and signal reach requirements.
Converge
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) “virtual fiber” maximizes network capacity with 10Gbps-capable CWDM (16λ), DWDM (40λ), or hybrid infrastructures. Converge separate, application-specific networks and eliminate reactionary, capacity-driven network overlays, with expandable network multiplexing capabilities.
