The BTI 700 Ethernet Access Series provides intelligent demarcation, extension, and aggregation functionality for simplified distribution of Ethernet and IP services. Tightly integrated with the BTI 7000 Series, the BTI 700 Series interworks with BTI’s transponders, muxponders, and the packetVX™ Integrated Ethernet Service modules to deliver end-to-end Carrier Ethernet networking solutions.

Features

Switch

Provide rapid provisioning and delivery of Ethernet connectivity using the BTI 700 portfolio which offers various platform options to address single and multi-unit demarcation solutions. The BTI 700 Series’ Carrier Ethernet implementation provides increased service scalability and demarcation between customer and provider and offers Service Level Agreement (SLA) enforcement leveraging extensive service metrics, policing and metering capabilities.

Aggregate

Combine multimedia communications, Local Area Network (LAN) extension, and intranet/internet traffic with standardized User Network Interfaces (UNIs) and service and traffic management allowing service definition on a per port, priority, or VLAN basis. Differentiated service levels can be defined using prioritization, policing, shaping, and flow control mechanisms.

Connect

Network uplink ports provide dedicated, high capacity interconnect at GbE and 10GbE rates. SFP and XFP network interfaces provide versatility and easily adapt BTI 700 solutions to any network environment and simplify sparing. Combo network ports offer the flexibility to combine interface and support both copper and optical 10/100/1000 client traffic

Extend

With its tight integration with the BTI 7000 Series, BTI 700 Series solutions can leverage BTI’s packet optical network platform to extend service delivery infrastructure across metro and regional networks. In addition, a full optical toolkit offering reach extension, and specialized network multiplexing modules can be leveraged to address a diverse range of physical network and signal reach requirements.

Converge

Using WDM network uplink optics and network multiplexing modules, the BTI 700 Series can leverage CWDM and DWDM virtual fiber to reduce physical fiber infrastructure requirements and converge separate, service-specific networks. The BTI 700 Series can also easily share wavelengths with a BTI 7000 Series system, allowing for the development of flexible, end-to-end service network topologies.

Manage

The BTI 700 Series delivers remote performance monitoring and testing capabilities leveraging standardized Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), Connectivity Fault Management (CFM), and a suite of optical and Ethernet protocol performance monitoring for extensive network and service visibility, remote fault diagnosis, and service verification.
