Samuel Li, Vice President and Managing Director Asia, - Ed Chaplin, Vice President of Finance
Ottawa, Canada — Monday, June 2, 2008 // BTI Systems, a global supplier of Optical Ethernet solutions for high-bandwidth service delivery, today announced the appointment of Samuel Li as Vice President & Managing Director of Asia and Ed Chaplin as Vice President of Finance. The appointments serve to strengthen BTI’s leadership team and accelerate the company’s strong market momentum.
With over 20 years of experience in Telecommunications/Wireless, Software Engineering, IT, and Electronics Industries in North America and Asia Pacific, Samuel Li will focus on building BTI’s strategic partnerships as part of the company expansion in Asia. Prior to joining BTI, Samuel was Vice President of Global Product Management and Operations at iSkoot. He has also held senior roles with Motorola China, Nortel and Nokia, and has worked with SavaJe Technologies and Beijing Electronic Appliance Manufacture.
Ed Chaplin brings his deep expertise in financial management to the BTI team. Prior to joining BTI, he was Corporate Controller at Corel Corporation, a public company traded on both the NASDAQ and TSX. While at Corel, he led the company’s finance team through its initial public offering and supported the integration of several key acquisitions. Most recently he relocated to Corel’s Taiwan office leading the financial integration of InterVideo and Ulead. Prior to joining Corel, he held positions in the audit and U.S. tax practices at Ernst & Young.
