Ottawa, Canada — Wednesday, June 4, 2008 // BTI Systems, a global supplier of Packet Optical Edge solutions for the delivery of Gigabit services, announced that Richard T. Liebhaber has been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors and will serve as an Independent Member.
A prominent and distinguished member of the technology industry, Mr. Liebhaber has contributed his business acumen to an impressive list of companies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU), Soapstone Networks (NASDAQ: SOAP), Inc., Cogent Communications Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCOI) and ILOG S.A. (NASDAQ: ILOG). Mr. Liebhaber’s remarkable career has also included Executive and Board of Director level positions at MCI and IBM. Prior to his work on these boards Mr. Liebhaber was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at MCI and was responsible for business development including the acquisition and integration of Telecom USA as well as the establishment of joint ventures with Stentor, Concert, British Telecom and Banacci to build MCI’s global presence. Prior to joining MCI, Mr. Liebhaber spent over 30 years with IBM. He has previously served on Boards of Qwest, Transworld Communications, Alcatel USA, Transmedia Communications and Internet Photonics.
