Industry leader joins as independent board member bringing expertise to support BTI growth
Ottawa, Canada—Tuesday, April 3, 2007 // – BTI Photonic Systems Inc., a global supplier of microWDM networking solutions for the delivery of gigabit services, today announced that Mike Unger, an Executive Consultant, has joined its Board of Directors as an independent board member.
A veteran of the telecommunications industry, Mike Unger formerly served as the President of Nortel Networks. At Nortel, he led the $10 billion Optical Networks business unit, with responsibility for the development and implementation of global, IP-optimized managed networks, services, and solutions. Currently, Mr. Unger currently serves on the Boards of EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (EXFO-Q, EXF-T), Nakina Systems Inc., Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TUN-T) and Tropic Networks Inc. With extensive experience in the optical networking industry, Mr. Unger will advise and provide business development guidance to BTI as the company continues to scale out its microWDM business globally.
