BTI Photonic Systems to participate in industry panel at WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking Conference 2006

Ottawa, Canada—Wednesday, June 21, 2006 // BTI Photonic Systems Inc., will participate on the Next Generation Optical Networking panel, hosted by Mark Lum, Independent Consulting Analyst at IIR Telecoms WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking 2006 conference in Cannes, France. The conference examines the newest trends in technologies, architectures, and features in optical core, metro, and access networks.

Mr. John Mills, BTI’s Vice President of Product Management will speak on a panel titled Next Generation Optical Networking. The panel will discuss the challenges optical network operators face as they support new client networks – triple play, 3G, Ethernet – and take a look at the technologies/approaches that are likely to provide the best ROI as they evolve their networks. Panel date and time: Wednesday, June 28th, 2006 – 5:10 p.m.

BTI Photonic Systems will also demonstrate its Netstender Platform in booth #9 at the conference, which runs June 26th through June 30th, 2006. The demonstration will feature BTI’s 10 Gigabit enabled low channel count - Thin-WDM - networking solutions for the build-out of new broadband services at the Optical Edge.

BTI's Netstender solution is deployed in 70 cities worldwide serving more than 40 telecom, cable, and enterprise customers.

About BTI Photonic Systems

With a focus on making broadband telecommunications networks more flexible, easier to operate and profitable, BTI Photonic Systems has developed its WDM Netstender™ platform, the industry's first optical edge system designed to utilize photonic layer architecture. Netstender consolidates key transport capabilities (DWDM/CWDM, Optical Multiplexing, Amplification, Dispersion Compensation and Wavelength Translation) within a single network element delivering industry leading CAPEX and OPEX savings, high density and future-proof networking capabilities for metropolitan and regional applications. BTI’s Netstender addresses the issues of fiber relief, reach extension, 10G, 1G, and metro Ethernet service overlay enabling carriers to deliver new high-speed services while dramatically reducing their costs and increasing their overall market footprint.
