Ottawa, Canada—Thursday, May 19, 2005 // BTI Photonic Systems, a leading supplier of Metro Edge connectivity for the build-out of new broadband services, today announced the appointment of Paul Harrison as Vice-President of Worldwide Sales. With his proven track record in sales, marketing and product management in the global optical marketplace, Paul will lead the drive to grow BTI’s sales and build on the current momentum and foundation of network deployments in seven countries.
With over 22 years of international experience in the telecom industry, Paul joins BTI from Ekinops Corporation, where he was Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Having lived and worked on three continents, he brings experience from two start-ups (Ekinops and Xtera). In addition, Paul spent nine years with Alcatel in Dallas and Milan, Italy, and nine years with Marconi in the UK and Thailand. His roles evolved from network engineering and product line management to executive level management, product strategy, marketing and sales.

Paul holds a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from Sunderland University in the UK, and a Masters in Marketing from Coventry University in the UK.
