Corporate Accountant

BTI Systems is seeking a talented individual to join the Finance Team in the role of Corporate Accountant. In this role you will be rresponsible for the overall financial statement preparation process ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial accounts. In addition, you will assist in the administration of corporate filings and financial operations.
Responsibilities include:
Financial Statement Close Process (FSCP):
• Ensuring timely and accurate reporting including but not limited to account reconciliations and journal entries;
• Ensure compliance with FSCP internal controls;
• Assisting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and month end working papers;
Reporting and Analysis:
• Calculation of sales commissions;
• Assist in preparation of corporate tax filings;
• Other ad-hoc reports as required;
Projects:
• Assist with BTI’s conversion to IFRS;
• Other finance projects as required;
The successful candidate will possess:
• Post secondary education in accounting or equivalent coupled with a minimum of 7-10 years of industry experience in general accounting field;
• Obtained or working towards professional accounting designation – CA is strongly preferred;
• Strong background in preparation of financial statements including account reconciliations and variance analysis is a must;
• Experience in a fast-paced, hi-tech environment is a definite asset;
• Advanced Excel skills;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be considered an asset;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work with all levels within the organization;
• Highly motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy;
• General business acumen;
